Box Office Thoughts for the Weekend of September 26, 2008

Eagle Eye topped the box office last weekend with an estimated gross of $29.2M. The romance Nights in Rodanthe was in second place with an estimated $13.6M.

Last week’s top film Lakeview Terrace dropped to third place with an estimated gross of only $7M.

As for the week’s other new releases, Spike Lee’s WWII drama Miracle at St. Anna opened in ninth place with an estimated gross of $3.5M, while the comedy Choke opened in fourteenth place with an estimated gross of $1.3M, which is decent for a film that was playing on only 435 screens.

And that’s the box office thoughts for this week.
