Box Office Thoughts for the Weekend of November 14, 2008

Quantum of Solace topped the box office with an estimated $70.4M, making it the largest opening for a James Bond film.

Last week’s top film, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa dropped to second with an estimated gross of $36.1M, while rest of the films in the top five also dropped a single space.

The only other real new film from last week was Slumdog Millionaire, which was only playing on 10 screens. With this limited release in mind, the film opened in twenty-third place with an estimated gross of $350K.

And that’s the box office thoughts for this week.
