This Weekend in Movies – November 28. 2008

Most of the films this week opened last Wednesday to prepare for the American Thanksgiving weekend. Here’s a summary of what’s playing.

My big pick for the weekend would be Baz Luhrmann’s epic (as in nearly 3 hours) Australia. The film seems to be getting split reviews with a rating of 51% Fresh at Rotten Tomatoes.

Also opening is Four Christmases, which I plan to check out next week. That film is getting less than favourable reviews with a 26% Fresh rating.

Doing slightly better in the reviews is Transporter 3, with a 35% Fresh rating (still not good).

The best reviews of the week go to Gus Van Sant’s biopic Milk, which currently has an astonishing 93% Fresh rating.

And that’s this weekend in movies.
