Box Office Thoughts for the Weekend of March 6, 2009

While it failed to match $70.1M made by 300 on the same weekend two years ago, Watchmen stilled opened at the top of the box office with a decent $55.2M.

With that gross, it remains to be seen if the film will come close to 300’s final gross of $210.6M, but I definitely think that the film will at least pass the $100M mark.

After spending two weeks on top, Madea Goes to Jail dropped down to second place with a, pale in comparison, gross of $8.5M.

And that’s the box office thoughts for this week.
