DVD Picks – May 19, 2009

valkyrie dvd 1Fresh off the long weekend and it's time to get back to business.

This week my main DVD pick is the WWII thriller Valkyrie (also on Blu-Ray). I thought that, despite poor public opinion on , it was still a good film that kept me under suspense, even though I had a good idea how it was going to turn out.

Also out this week is the year's first $100M+ hit Paul Blart: Mall Cop (also on Blu-Ray). I thought that even though the film started out iffy, I started having fun when the plot got going.

I missed it in theaters, but this week also sees the DVD release on Fanboys (also on Blu-Ray).

Rounding out the new releases is My Bloody Valentine 3D (also on Blu-Ray), complete with 3D glasses.

Notable films being released on Blu-Ray this week include A Bug's Life, Enemy at the Gates, The Machinist, Fast Company, and Teminator 2: Skynet Edition.

And that's my DVD Picks for this week.

Valkyrie was probably one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. Saw it on theatres Christmas Day and ordered it on blu-ray from amazon a couple days ago. Special features look great, I’ve read a couple reviews.
