Trailer Thoughts: Shutter Island

This week we look at the forth collaboration between Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese.

Shutter Island

I don’t believe that Scorsese has really been in horror/thriller territory since 1991’s Cape Fear and I suppose he decided to make a fun creepy film after winning his Oscar for The Departed.

And boy does this trailer look creepy.

From the looks of it the film either involves DiCaprio’s federal marshall character going insane or seeing ghosts (or both), while investigating a prisoner disappearance at an isolated mental institution.

The film opens in October (in time for Halloween) and I’ll be sure to check it out.

Sean Patrick Kelly is a self-described über-geek, who has been an avid film lover for all his life. He graduated from York University in 2010 with an honours B.A. in Cinema and Media Studies and he likes to believe he knows what he’s talking about when he writes about film (despite occasionally going on pointless rants).
