This Weekend in Movies – July 31, 2009

July goes out with a (dramatic) laugh, as Judd Apatow’s Funny People is released. The film is doing fairly decent with the reviews, having a 66% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

There is also a family film called Aliens in the Attic being released, which doesn’t have a RT rating, meaning that it’s a good sign that the film should be skipped.

There is also a new horror film The Collector, which has a 33% Fresh rating.

In more limited release films, Fifty Dead Men Walking, which I saw last year at TIFF, opens today in Canada and has a very good rating of 88% Fresh.

Also being released in limited release is the quirky romance Adam, which has a 68% Fresh rating.

And that’s This Weekend in Movies.
