This Weekend in Movies – September 25, 2009

My main pick this weekend is the sci-fi thriller Surrogates. The film currently has a 41% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Also opening is the sci-fi horror film Pandorum, which has a 40% Fresh rating.

Even though the ratings for both of those films are low, they aren’t as bad as the new remake of Fame, which only has a 28% Fresh rating.

The better reviewed films opening this week (both in limited release) is Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story (74% Fresh) and the high-buzz horror film Paranormal Activity (91% Fresh).

Also out this week for Canadian audiences is The Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day.

And that’s this weekend in movies.
