My Thoughts on The Box

Even though I had to put up with noisy teens during the film today, I still found The Box to be an intriguing morality tale.

I really liked how the film was shot to look visual like it was a film from the 70s (where the film takes place).  The film is unmistakably by Richard Kelly and he incorporated imagery in this film that would be really familiar to anyone who seen Donnie Darko.

Visual style aside, I thought a pretty good Twilight Zone-like thriller (which is fitting, since the story it’s based on was previously adapted as an episode).

I’m sure fans of Kelly’s previous work would enjoy this film, even though it might get confusing for some towards the end.
