biutiful

One thing that can definitely said about this film is that it is a quite depressing film.  The film focuses on a man who finds out he is dying of cancer and he tries to right the wrongs in his life.

The film is entire built around 's performance and while slow at parts (the film is nearly 2 1/2 hours long), the film does feature a gripping story, which also features two subplots (and multi-coloured subtitles to represent different languages).

One of the quirks of the films, which is shown in a matter-of-fact fashion is that Bardem's character has the ability to communicate with the recently deceased (though the film doesn't really dwell on that area).

Overall, I thought it was an excellent film, though it's definitely not something to watch casually.
