Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires

The best goddamn cop on the force has to deal with an infestation of vampire tramps in Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires. Chuck Steel (Mike Mort) is a jacked up action hero cop, who knows what it takes to clean up the streets of L.A. While investigating a series of murders, Steel encounters an old man named Abraham Van Rental (Mort), who warns about an invasion of Trampires, a cross between vampires and tramps, who crave the blood of intoxicated individuals. Chuck Steel must stop the trampires, before they complete their plan to take over the world.

Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires is a stop motion adventure that both apes the tropes of 1980s action films, while also featuring a number of horror elements. The titular Chuck Steele is the typical macho action hero, however he has been off his game lately following the loss of his wife and is ordered to attend regular therapy sessions with Dr. Alex Cular (). However, things heat up when Steel becomes aware of the plague of Trampires in L.A. and had to rush to stop their plan to eliminate the puritan governor (Dan Russell).

is the feature film debut of stop motion animator Michael Mort, who previously introduced the character of Chuck Steel in the 2013 short film Raging Balls of Steel Justice. While the film does have some sexist and transphobic elements that might not sit right in today's political correct world, Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires is a very entertaining and often hilarious send-up of 1980s action film and I would definitely be interested in seeing more adventures of Chuck Steel in the future.
