Deadsight – Blood in the Snow 2018

deadsight

A blinded man and a pregnant police officer try to survive a zombie outbreak in . Ben Neilson (Adam Seybold) wakes up in an ambulance with no sight and no idea how he got there. It isn't long until Ben discovers that the undead are roaming the countryside and he struggles to find shelter. The only other living person Ben comes across is very pregnant police officer Mara Madigan () and together they try to find a way to surprise.

From director Jesse Thomas Cook (Monster Brawl, The Hexecutioners) comes a very dramatic zombie survivor film that feels like The Walking Dead, except for the added twist of a lead protagonist who is blind. Save for a brief cameo by as fellow survivor Gator, Ben and Mara make up the only two living characters in the film and despite Mara not really trusting Ben, the two have to work together to try and get to safety.

Deadsight is a zombie apocalypse film that focuses quite a bit more on human drama than attacks by the undead. Part of this is by design, since it would be unlikely that a blind man like Ben would survive very long if we went to hoards of zombies. However, Deadsight still has its fair share of zombie action and it is probably one of the most technically well made films of Jesse Thomas Cook's career.
