Alexander Payne (Sideways, The Descendants) returns with the stark black and white drama Nebraska, which won star Bruce Dern the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival.  I’m certain this film is going to result in comparisons to Payne’s 2002 film About Schmidt, since they both focus on curmudgeonly old men (and both feature the same actress cast as the lead’s wife).  The film also marks a dramatic turn for Saturday Night Live alum Will Forte, who plays Dern’s son.  Nebraska is scheduled to open on November 22.
