Trailer Thoughts: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Here is the first trailer for this graphic novel adaptation directed by and starring .

Michael Cera has played pretty much the same awkward character is most of his films and the first 30 seconds or so of this trailer makes it look like this film is more of the same.

Then the crazy over-the-top action starts.

This movie looks like it’s going to be such a fun film with action scenes that look like they are ripped straight from the pages of a comicbook (almost reminds me of the old Batman tv show).  I wouldn’t expect any less from the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.  It’s also interesting seeing a shot of a TTC bus in the trailer (the film was shot in Toronto last year).

I am so looking forward to this one when it opens August 13.
