However, with his latest documentary about the San Diego Comic-Con, Spurlock is neither seen nor heard and he lets […]

The Sparks Brothers – Hot Docs 2021 (29/04/2021)
Edgar Wrights guides us down the highly influential, yet criminally underlooked career of the band Sparks in The Sparks Brothers. Over the course of their five-decade-long […]

From director Alexandre Philippe (The People vs. George Lucas) comes this examination of the evolution of the zombie in film and literature, as well as its impact on pop culture. Paul (21/03/2011)
I’ve been a fan of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost since Shaun of the Dead, so I was happy to see them back together for Paul (even though they are without usual director Edgar Wright). The film is a sci-fi comedy about two British geeks, who pick-up an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) that […]
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (24/08/2010)
I had to wait a week and a half before I was finally able to see Scott Pilgrim vs the World, however the wait has been worth it. This is a film for everyone that loves videogames, Toronto, and everything in between. I don’t think that the film does too much to change peoples opinion […]
Youth in Revolt (21/01/2010)
It’s hard to argue that Michael Cera‘s career has been a bit of a one trick pony. This film looked to shake things up with a bit by having Cera in a double-role, one which is the complete opposite of the characters Cera is usually known for. If only that side of Cera got more […]
Run Fatboy Run (30/03/2008)
Simon Pegg has really started to make a name for himself, since the release of Shaun of the Dead back in 2004. This film is his first staring role without his usual collaborators, writer/director, Edgar Wright and, co-star, Nick Frost. For the first 20 minutes or so, I was not sure if this David Schwimmer-directed […]
Hot Fuzz (22/04/2007)
Two years ago saw the release of the very funny horror-comedy Shaun of the Dead. Now the same team is back for Hot Fuzz, which is a satire on police films. I should say first that I loved Shaun of the Dead. In fact, I consider it one of my favourite films. However, I have […]
Grindhouse (08/04/2007)
This film can’t be really described in words, you really must experience it yourself. That said, it was the most fun I can at the movies this year. Of the two features, I would say I enjoyed Robert Rodriguez’s Planet Terror better. It just seemed more campy and fun. However, as a whole package, I […]
