Blindspot 2014: Fantastic Mr. Fox (23/03/2014)

This month saw the release of, the latest film by Wes Anderson, The Grand Budapest Hotel, which I saw last week.  As such, it seemed fitting that I make my blindspot selection this month the only film of Anderson’s that I had yet to see.  Fantastic Mr. Fox is based on the book by Roald […]

A Glimpse into the Mind of Charles Swan III (15/02/2013)

Where should I begin with this movie?  A Glimpse into the Mind of Charles Swan III is directed by Roman Coppola and stars Charles Sheen as the title character.  It’s not a particularly easy film for me to describe, since the film seems to move in multiple directions.  At its core, the film is about […]

Revisiting Donnie Darko – Ten Years Later (01/08/2012)

It’s a very special revisiting post for you today.  Ten years ago today, I finally saw Richard Kelly’s Donnie Darko for the first time after months of trying.  The film was a victim somewhat of 9/11, in which it was essentially buried during its original theatrical release in October 2001.  It wasn’t until it was […]

Moonrise Kingdom looks and feels like it was made in the 1960s setting of the film.  The film is a coming of age […]

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (24/08/2010)

I had to wait a week and a half before I was finally able to see Scott Pilgrim vs the World, however the wait has been worth it. This is a film for everyone that loves videogames, Toronto, and everything in between.  I don’t think that the film does too much to change peoples opinion […]

Funny People (04/08/2009)

It would be unfair to compare this film to Judd Apatow‘s previous directorial efforts, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up, since those were different types of movies. Funny People is definitely a comedy-drama and even though there were scenes with plenty of laughs, there were also serious scenes within the film, and I thought that […]
