A man and woman are forced to co-exist in woods harbouring a haunting secret in Woodland Grey. William (Ryan Blakely) is a man living a solitary life in the woods, who ends up saving Emily (Jenny Raven), who is found unconscious in the woods. William and Emily share an apprehensive co-existence, which goes awry when Emily finds a shed that is harbouring a shocking secret. Woodland Grey is a wilderness thriller by writer/director Adam Reider about two people in a wooded area harbouring a dark secret. Through flashbacks, we learn some backstory about the protagonists Emily and William, with the former having gone on a hiking trip to cope with the recent death of her grandfather Moses (Art Hindle), despite the fact that she needs dialysis within a week. With time running out for Emily, she discovers the true nature of these woods and the secret that William has been hiding. Woodland Grey is a very isolated thriller, with the bulk of the actioning focusing on the two leads of Ryan Blakely and Jenny Raven. I don't want to reveal too much about what happens in these woods, but I will say that there is a certain supernatural element to Woodland Grey. However, I thought that Woodland Grey was a quite slow-paced film and I admittedly wasn't able to fully follow the plot. While I eventually had a rough idea of where the film was heading, Woodland Grey is ultimately a film I just shrug my shoulders at.
