Scoot McNairy
☼ Born on 11 December 1977, in Dallas, Texas, USA
BiographyDuring the early 2000s, actor Scoot McNairy quickly came to specialize in portrayals of colorful and individualistic young men with a slightly rebellious edge. McNairy began during the early to mid-2000s, with bit parts in films including Wonderland (2003), Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), and Art School Confidential (2006). He took his first bow as a producer with 2007's In Search of a Midnight Kiss, in which he also starred. That indie romantic comedy concerns a young man (McNairy) all washed up on New Year's Eve -- until an impulsive ad on Craigslist leads him to the great love of his life (Sara Simmonds) and an extraordinary night on the town.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (27/03/2016)

The Dark Knight holds a vengeful vendetta against the Man of Steel in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Two years have past since the world was introduced to Superman (Henry Cavill). An experimental music group is lead by an eccentric man in a papier-mâché head in the indie comedy-drama Frank.  Jon (Domhnall Gleeson) is a wannabe musician, who stumbles upon a band called “Soronprfbs,” who are trying to stop their keyboardist from drowning himself in the ocean.  Needing an extra man for their performance that night, […]

12 Years a Slave (01/12/2013)

From director Steve McQueen (Shame) comes the historical drama 12 Years a Slave.  Based on true events, the film tells the story of Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free black man living Saratoga Springs, New York in the 1840s.  A skilled violin player, Northup is lured away by two men offering a touring gig in […]

Killing Them Softly (02/12/2012)

It is obvious from the opening credits that Killing Them Softly is more art film than crime film.  Sure, the film focuses on a hitman named Jackie (Brad Pitt), who is called in to kill those responsible in a robbery.  However, the film moves at quite a slow pace, which features much more talking than […]

Argo (18/11/2012)

I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about Ben Affleck’s third directorial effort Argo, so I thought I should make it a point to see the film while it was still in theatres.  Argo is a true story about C.I.A. agent Tony Mendez (Affleck), who travels to Iran, undercover as a film producer, in […]

Unknown (19/02/2011)

I have been hearing a lot of comparisons between this film and Liam Neeson‘s surprise 2008 hit Taken.  However, while they are both films that feature Neeson in a genre he is not usually known for, they are two different types of film. While the term is probably overused, the best description of Unknown would be […]
