The Dark Knight Rises Tumbler Tour Comes to Toronto

DSC02254

As part of the promotion for next month’s release of The Dark Knight Rises, the Tumbler (Batmobile) and Badpod have been going on tour across North America.

The vehicles arrived for a series of stops in Toronto this week and I stopped by to check them out as they were stationed in front of the Rio-Can Yonge-Eglinton Centre.  It was definitely cool seeing these vehicles in person.

This is actually my third time seeing the Batmobile.  I first saw the car (and the other vehicles from Batman Returns) when they were on display at the 1992 Canadian National Exhibition.  More recently, the Batmobile from the 1960s Batman TV series was on display at Fan Expo 2010, which also had West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar in attendance.

There will be one more chance to check out the Tumbler and Batpod before they leave Toronto, as they will be stationed tomorrow at Yonge-Dundas Square from 7:30am – 4:00pm.

I’ll finish off with the photos I took during my visit today:
