This year’s Golden Globes was as tough to call as any. We are still very early in the awards season and there was not yet any clear frontrunner. However, at the end of the night, it turned out to be Boyhood that was the big winner, which should set the stage for the awards season to come. Last night was a night of many unexpected wins, including Eddie Redmayne winning Best Actor – Drama for The Theory of Everything, Amy Adams winning Best Actress – Comedy for Big Eyes and even Michael Keaton‘s Best Actor – Comedy win for Birdman. My predictions were remotely better than last year, as I correctly guessed 6 of the 14 film categories. Half of those predictions went to Boyhood‘s wins, while I also correctly guessed the awards for Best Supporting Actor, Best Animated Film, and Best Foreign Language Film. The stage is now set for the Oscars, the nominees of which will be announced later this week.
