The Ring Two
For me, The Ring was scary movie in the sense that it made me have an uneasy feeling afterwards, that I couldn’t shake for at least 10 minutes. Now there’s the sequel, directed by the original Japanese director. I’ve been reading reviews of the movie today, which seems to suggest that this movie is suffering from a major case of sequelitis. However, because of my DTR (Don’t Trust Reviews) views, I am going to keep an open mind on this movie right to the point the final credits come onto screen.
Ice Princess
Most people associate Michelle Trachtenberg with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However, since I hardly watched that show (only a few episodes in the third season), I associate Trachtenberg with her movie debut in 1996’s Harriet the Spy. That was back when she was 11. Now, on to this movie. Other than the fact that this movie was filmed in and around my hometown of Toronto (I remember seeing an ad in the newspaper asking for people to be extras for one of the figure skating scenes), I have no intention at all seeing a movie which are aimed at girls who are the same age Trachtenberg was in Harriet the Spy (possibly even younger).
Melinda and Melinda
I have yet to see one of Woody Allen’s films. However, this may be the movie that will be the first. I really like the premise on how the story is being told by both a comedic and dramatic viewpoint. Now, I just have to wait for the film to open in Toronto.
