Kick-Ass is a superhero satire film that pokes fun of the absurdity of being a superhero, while being a pretty entertaining superhero film itself.
A minor controversy to come out of this film is the 11 year old character of Hit Girl and how comfortable she is with all the wanton violence she performs. It was something that so morally disturbed Roger Ebert, that he couldn’t support the film.
However, while the film features some dramatic moments, the film is for the most part a comedic satire and part of this comedy comes from the totally absurd sight of seeing a little girl slice and dice an entire room of mobsters.
Questionable morals aside, Kick-Ass was a fun film that took a look at what it would really would be like if superheroes walked among us.
