Box Office Thoughts for the Week of December 5, 2008

FourChristmases posterFour Christmases topped the box office for a second week in a role with an estimated gross of $18.2M. In addition, the rest of the top five is virtually identical to last week (albiet with lower grosses).

The highest grossing of the new films was Punisher: War Zone, which opened in eighth place with an estimated gross of $4M. Right behind it is Cadillac Records, which opened in ninth with an estimated $3.5M.

Frost/Nixon, which had a very limited release of only three screens opened in twenty-second place with an estimated $180K.

And that’s the box office thoughts for this week.
