Box Office Thoughts for the Weekend of May 22, 2009

NightattheMuseumBattleoftheSmithsonianPosterFurther proof that family-friendly films equal box-office gold, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian ($53.5M) beat Terminator: Salvation ($43M) by an estimated $10.5M.

Last week’s top film, Angels and Demons, dropped to forth place with an estimated $21.4M.

The other new release for the week, Dance Flick, opened in fifth place with an estimated $11.1M.

And that’s the box office thoughts for this week.
