The virtual DC FanDome convention happened this weekend, which included the debut of trailers for a number of DC film productions, including The Suicide Squad and the “Zack Snyder Cut” of Justice League. Probably the most anticipated of these trailers was the first trailer for Reeves’ .

The latest reboot of the Batman franchise sees take up the mantle of the Dark Knight, as he battles the Riddler, who will be played by , with as James Gordon, Zoe Kravitz as Selena Kyle, as Oswald Cobblepot, and as Alfred Pennyworth rounding out the cast.

The Batman looks to be one the darkest and grounded in reality screen depictions of the character, with this trailer having a very emo feel, thanks particularly to the shaggy hair of Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne and the interesting soundtrack choice of ‘s “Something in the Way.”

The Batman is currently scheduled to be released on October 1, 2021
