Notable Awards so Far:
- Golden Globes – Best Actress in a Supporting Role
- BAFTAS – Best Supporting Actress
- Screen Actors Guild – Outstanding Performance by Actress in Supporting Role
the Film’s Chances:
Along with The Irishman, this year marks the first time I recall that two Netflix productions were in the Best Picture race. While I do believe that Marriage Story is the slightly better of the two films, I’m don’t think Noah Baumbach’s film is likely to walk away with the big prize. However, I do think that Laura Dern is all but definitely getting Best Supporting Actress.
