I was all set for The White Ribbon to win the Best Foreign Film Oscar when this Argentinian film ended up winning instead.  As such, I thought that it would be fair that I check out the film for myself.

The film deals with a recently retired federal justice agent, who decides to write about the case that haunted him for the past 25 years.  The film is played mostly in flashback, as the agent tried to solve the case involving the murder of a young woman.

I can probably see why the film won the Oscar, however I have to admit that I personally consider White Ribbon to be the better film.  It’s still a decent film though.
