Wolverine is the most popular of the X-Men character, so it was probably natural that they would make a movie about his origins.
However, I do not think that the resulting film would succeed in revitalizing the X-Men series.
It was an OK film, however about half the film is quite light on action and not something that you would expect to see in a summer blockbuster.
I do have to that Ryan Reynolds was good in his brief scene-stealing role and the action definitely picked up in the climax, but overall the film was just alright.
