The award winners were announced today for the 2013 Toronto After Dark Film Festival. For the second year in a row, it was a zombie film that took top honours, with The Battery winning the festival’s Gold Audience Choice Award, as well as three of the specialty awards, including Best Screenplay, Best Music, and Best Poster. The Silver award went to the wilderness thriller Solo and the Bronze award went to the terrifying Banshee Chapter. Another big winner was the housefly revenge film Eega, which won eight of the specialty awards, including Best Action, Best Comedy, and Most Original Film. The opening gala film We Are What We Are won four specialty awards, including Best Director, Best Horror Film, and Best Kill, while The Machine won two, including Best Sci-Fi Film and Best Actress. As for the shorts, the award for Best Canadian Short went to Remember Me, while Best International Short went to C (299, 792KM PER SECOND). Full List of Toronto After Dark Award Winners
