This Month in Movies: August 2009

inglouriousbasterds 2To go with the new format, the column formerly known as “Movies of the Moment” will now be named “This Month in Movies” and I will list every movie out this month, labeling which ones I definitely will see, which ones I might see, and which ones I will definitely be skipping. As always, I will place emphasis on my main pick of the month.

My main pick this month will be ‘s Inglourious Basterds. This film is almost legendary in how long it took Tarantino to get it made (it was written before Kill Bill).

Apparently, the film is set to feature more dialog than action, however what I’m most interested in seeing are the different chapters that will each be done in a different film style.

Here are the rest of the releases for the month:

August 7
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra – Will See
Julie & Julia
A Perfect Getaway
Shorts – Won’t See

Cold Souls (Limited) – Might See

August 14
District 9 – Will See

The Time Traveler’s Wife – Won’t See
