This Weekend in Movies – April 16, 2010 – Kick-Ass, Death at a Funeral

KickAss 1

After a two-week sabbatical, I am back (and hopefully I’ll go back to a regular posting schedule).

Anyways this week the film I am most excited for is the hyper-violent comicbook adaptation Kick-Ass.  The critics (with the exception of Roger Ebert) seem to echo that sentiment with the film currently having a 76% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The other major release this week comes filed in the category of “remakes that didn’t need to be made.”  This would of course be Death at a Funeral, which was originally a hilarious British film directed by and is now low-brow comedy staring .  The critics seem to agree with my feeling with the film only having a 43% Fresh rating (though the Toronto Star inexplicably gave the film 3/4 stars).  I advise that you check out the originalir?t=seakelonmov03 20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B0011KQSZ4 instead.

And that’s This Weekend in Movies.
