This Weekend in Movies – October 8, 2010 – My Soul to Take, Secretariat, Nowhere Boy, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, and More
David Lynch Teaches Creativity and Film
October is a month to see horror films, so my pick for the weekend will be Wes Craven’s My Soul to Take, which I will actually be seeing later today. The film wasn’t screened for critics and I think most of the buzz for the film was killed when Scream 4 went into production. Still, I will give the film a look (even if I am being forced to see the film in 3D).
The best reviewed film of the week is the John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy, which currently has an 80% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The next closest would be Stephen Frears Tamara Drewe, which has a 74% Fresh rating.
Rounding out the week’s releases are the horse race drama Secretariat (64% Fresh), the Zach Galifianakis dramedy It’s Kind of a Funny Story (58% Fresh), the crime drama Stone (48% Fresh), and the romantic comedy Life as We Know It (27% Fresh).
And that’s This Weekend in Movies
