However, my busiest position today was manning the P&I screening for the film Lebanon, fresh from winning the Golden Lion at the Venace Film Festival.
The was one instance where a publicist for the film was very desperate to let a critic from Time Magazine into the film, which resulted in a rare line bypass exception. However, this left a disappointed Michael Phillips (of the Chicago Tribune and co-host of At the Movies). Phillips actually hung around at the front of the line until after the film started, before he finally went away.
Also quite busy was my public screening for the Chinese film The Warrior and the Wolf, which even had a talent party show up.
I am now finished volunteering until Friday, so starting tomorrow I will finally start checking out some films starting with George A. Romero’s Survival of the Dead.
