Tomorrow happens to be International Record Story Day.  As such, it is not that surprising that the Bloor Cinema would program a new documentary that is all about celebrating the joy and charm of the independent record store.

documents the very last record shop in Teesside, which is located in the North East of England.  That statement is something of a misnomer, since it's pointed out that there's an HMV in Teesside, though apparently the chain (the largest in the UK — and Canada) is not viewed favourably by serious record collectors.

The documentary interviews both the owners of the record score, as well as some of its regular customers (my favourite is this old man, who pops up many times throughout the film).  Generally the film is an ode to record collecting, with many of the subjects singing their praises about buying and listening to albums on vinyl.

I'm sure this doc will awaken the music-lover in all of us.
