Over the course of his two decade long career, Manny Pacquiao has become known as one of the greatest boxers of all time. Born in 1978, at a time when the Philippines were at civil war, Manny entered the world of boxing at the age of 16, as a way to improve the quality of life for his family. After moving to the United States, Manny would be go on to become the first and only boxer to win eight world titles in eight different weight classes. Narrated by Liam Neeson, Manny is a documentary that asks why Manny Pacquiao has devoted his life to boxing, despite the physical and mental toll that the sport has on a person. With a boxing career that has lasted over twenty years, Manny has become known as one of the greatest boxers since the days of Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. The documentary covers many of Manny’s biggest fights, including a win against boxing great Oscar De La Hoya, which helped to cement Pacquiao’s superstardom. In addition to his boxing career, Manny Pacquiao is a devoutly religious man and he also holds a seat on the Congress of the Philippines. In fact, Manny’s goal is to focus on a political career, after the end of his boxing career. Manny also takes a behind the scenes look at the world of boxing, with the film featuring interview’s with Manny’s trainer Freddie Roach, promoter Bob Arum, and advisor Michael Koncz. One bit of unfinished business in Manny’s boxing career is a dream fight against Floyd Mayweather, though the film makes such a fight seem unlikely, due to politics behind the scenes.
