Biography
Asmara Abigail Sumiskum is an Indonesian actress, dancer, and model. Asmara was a teenage model where she started participating in a model selection event organized by Go Girl! and NYLON. She is too theater dancer, before starring in her first feature-length film Setan Jawa in 2016, a silent black-and-white film with classical orchestra and musical accompaniment directed by Garin Nugroho and shown in Melbourne, Australia as the opening of the Asia Pacific Triennial of Performing Arts on February 24, 2017. Satan Jawa is the beginning of Asmara's career in the film industry. Asmara, who has a background in tango, flamenco and pole dance, made Garin inspired to express Asih's character through a combination of these contemporary dances with traditional Javanese dance movements. Asmara's enthusiasm was seen when she just returned from a photo shoot in Larantuka, East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. Asmara had a role in the TV series Switch (2017). Her name began to be recognized after playing Darminah in the film Satan's Slaves (2017) in 2017 directed by the master of horror Joko Anwar, remake of the 1982 horror classic Satan's Slave (1980) which was a critical and public success. hough here comedy also prevails. Switching genres, the actress starred in Homecoming (2019), a dramatic film directed by Adriyanto Dewo. She again coincided with the director Joko Anwar, but this time in a superhero film titled Gundala (2019).
The year 2020 appears in another horror film Mangkujiwo (2020) directed by Azhar Kinoi Lubis.
In 2021 she co-stars in the drama film Yuni (2021), a hit among festivals around the world. Directed by Kamila Andini and with high quality acting partners such as the young Arawinda Kirana among others.
Then in 2022 she starred in the fantasy thriller A World Without (2021). She stars in the Malayalam film Stone Turtle (2022) by Ming Jin Woo and then again with Joko Anwar in Satan's Slaves 2: Communion (2022), a sequel to Satan's Slaves (2017).
She was educated at the Haute Future Fashion Academy, Italy, specializing in Luxury Goods Marketing and Image.
