DVD Pick of the Day: Red State

In what will most likely be my final purchase before the holidays (always need to save a few for my wishlist), yesterday I picked up ‘s Red State on blu-ray.  The disc was released a couple weeks ago after a very successful roadshow release, which saw Smith tour along with the film and provide a Q&A that was often much longer than the film’s length.  I saw the film on it’s Toronto stop back in August.

The listed special features on the disc include a making-of documentary, deleted scenes, Kevin Smith’s speech at Sundance, a conversation with , and more.  The film definitely retains Smith’s level of special features, despite the film being an independent release.

Details:
Blu-Ray – $24.99 (CND), $19.99 (US)
Standard DVD – $19.99 (CND), 9.99 (US)
Film Thoughts: A no hold barred film, which is probably one of Kevin Smith’s best.
Film Rating: 9/10
