There have been a lot of reports going on, based on comments by Tom Arnold, that James Cameron would make a sequel to True Lies after Arnold Schwarzenegger finishes his term as Governor of California.
However, Cameron sent a statement to Harry Knowles of Ain’t It Cool News saying that Tom Arnold was probably joking and that Cameron said that after September 11, he “never felt comfortable generating laughs with nuke-toting Islamic fundamentalist terrorists.”
As such, it is unlikely that such a sequel will ever be made.
