It is being reported the Steven Spielberg is interested in directing a film based on the Matt Helm spy novels written by Donald Hamilton.

He is not 100% confirmed to direct, since the film is one of the projects left behind at Paramount when Dreamworks split and many issues would have to be worked out if Spielberg joins.

The Matt Helm novels were previously adapted as a series of movies in 1960s staring Dean Martin. It will be interesting what the modern take will be like.
