Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person Synopsis

Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person is a twist on the typical teenage vampire romance and the debut feature by Quebecois filmmaker Ariane Louis-Seize. Sasha's worried parents, one of whom is played by Viking's , sends her to say with her sociopathic cousin Denise (Noémie O'Farrell) to try and unlock a killer instinct. However, Sasha instead befriends suicidal bullied teen Paul, who turns out to be the only person who can trigger Sasha's fangs.

My Thoughts on Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person

There's a lot of similarities that can be found between Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person and 2021's Kicking Blood, as both films feature vampire protagonists who view humans with empathy rather than as a source of food. The difference with Ariane Louis-Seize‘s film is that the tongue is firmly in cheek with the film's vampire antics, such as the opening scene where a child Sasha is traumatized by her family eating a birthday clown. The film's quirky comedy, along with a few surprisingly bloody moments, helps Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person be more than just another Twilight clone.
