Over the course of this year the three film adaptations of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy were released, just as production was beginning on an English-language remake.

This final chapter of the trilogy is direct continuation of The Girl Who Played with Fire, however I found that it also works as stand alone tale.  This film follows the character of Mikael Blomkvist and his colleagues at Millennium magazine more than previous films, since the central character of Lisbeth Salander is either in hospital or in jail for the bulk of the story.

When it’s all said and done, all the loose ends are tied up, even though the final scene left a bit more to be desired.

8/10

As for the aforementioned remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo currently in production, I am willing to check it out, even though I am skeptical that it’s even necessary other than the language barrier.  But, that’s an issue for a later post.
