Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson

Table of Contents

Gonzo posterI’m sorry to say that I never had the chance to prepare a classic thoughts review for today. However, I saw this documentary today, so that will be a fitting substitute.

There are many different types of documentaries, however I find that “talking head” variety to be the most informative and interesting.

This film features archival footage of Thompson interspersed with interviews of people close to him. The film also features narration by Johnny Depp, which mostly consists of Depp reading Thompson’s writings.

I found this documentary a very interesting look at one of the most unique individuals in American history. His story is told as a slightly tragic one, especially since he decided to kill himself in 2005.

I would say that this film is worth a look if you want to know more about Hunter S. Thompson and his Gonzo Journalism.

8/10
