TIFF09: Jennifer’s Body

jennifersbodyThis film opens tomorrow, so this can also be considered a normal review.

The big thing that is apparent about this film is that it is more dark comedy than horror. There were a lot of parts in the film that caused people to laugh, but I considered them more bad puns than anything.

The trailer hinted how the film seemed similar to the Canadian horror film Ginger Snaps (just switch a demon for a werewolf). Watching the whole film, I can say that, while it’s not a carbon copy, there are enough similarities between the two stories, that it would be fun to compare them side-by-side.

Overall, I found it a so-so film. Perhaps it’s my dislike of that lowered my view on the film, or maybe its just pretending to be something it’s not.

7/10
