Barbara Troy
BiographyBarbara was born in Detroit and at age 7 the family moved to West Bloomfield where her dad owned and operated a Polo Field. During the time actress Kim Novak was a frequent visitor to the polo games, as she had a boyfriend who played polo and she lived in Hamtramck. Kim was always very nice to Barbara and often sat with her mother during the polo matches. Barbara recalls that later when film Picnic came out, she would tell her friends that she used to hang with Kim Novak and no one believed her. Barbara learned about French and Italian films from friends who attended Cass Tech and studied fine art at Wayne State University in Detroit. Later in life, after an early retirement, Barbara began writing, and later producing and directing films. Before shooting her first film, she was diagnosed with double breast cancer. Doctors allowed her surgery and treatment to be postponed until after the film was shot. She remains cancer free and to date has completed four films. And has options on several others.
