Classic Thoughts: X-Men

With the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine this weekend, I thought I would go back and take a look at the original film.

X-Men is credited for sparking the current craze in comic book adaptations. Its success helped many other Marvel comics, including Spider-Man, to be green-lit for films.

The film is a simple origin story focusing on Wolverine and how he met and joined the X-Men, all while trying to stop the evil Magneto.

It was definitely a good film, which let to a better sequel (though the third film received mixed reviews). I also hold a soft spot for the fact that the film was made in and around Toronto.

If you haven’t seen the film, it is definitely worth seeing before checking out the prequel this weekend.
