Clint Eastwood makes a return to the big screen in The Mule. A decade ago, it was thought that 2008’s Grand Torino would mark Clint Eastwood’s final time in front of the camera. However, we would end up returning four years later in 2012’s Trouble with the Curve and here he is returning again in the crime drama The Mule, which he is also directing. There is little specific plot details in this first trailer for the film, other than Eastwood is playing an elderly drug smuggler and the film has a supporting cast that includes Bradley Cooper, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Peña, and Dianne Wiest. There is also sort of a comic irony in the trailer as Eastwood’s character says “I swear to God, this is the last one,” which can be interpreted to a reference to his on and off retirement. I do have to say that Clint Eastwood is really showing his age at 88 years old and interesting what kind of reception The Mule receives when it is released in December.
