DaybreakersPosterWith the PG-rated vampires of the Twilight films, it's good to see the return of a dark and violent vampire film.

In this film, vampires have become the dominant species on the planet and the remaining humans are being harvested for their blood.  Ethan Hawke plays a researching looking for a solution to the upcoming blood shortage before all the vampires starve and devolve into bat-like creatures.

It would be too much to call this the best vampire film in a while (I still consider 30 Days of Night to be the best vampire film of recent history), but it was still an enjoyable experience that delved into action and science fiction (instead of just horror).

Definitely more worth seeing than those Twilight films.

8/10
