It is a shame that there is poor public opinion on Tom Cruise, since I thought Valkyrie was quite a good movie.
It would be stretching it to say that it is a film that would receive Oscar recognition, but I thought that the film was a great return to thrillers for director Bryan Singer, who spent the better part of the last decade doing comic book films.
I would also say that it is an art to keep a movie suspenseful, even though you know how the story turns out (something that plagues all “based on true story” films).
No matter what your thoughts on Tom Cruise, I definitely recommend you give this film a shot.
